TOP 3 Countries to set up a company as EU / Non-EU resident Digital Nomad.

Start a company abroad and save taxes! (Without residence or domicile in another country)

Which industries are suitable for establishing foreign companies residing in a high-tax paying country?

This certainly includes the IT industry. Are you a software developer, programmer, SEO expert or web designer? Then you have the ideal qualifications to become a digital nomad. There are also many successful digital nomads in the e-commerce sector. As an online shop operator, you can literally work from anywhere.

All creative professions are also suitable. For example, if you are a blogger, copywriter, podcaster, photographer, editor or graphic designer, as well as coaches, consultants and advisors are suitable.

The idea that digital nomads don't have to pay taxes is still a myth. Deregistering and living completely tax-free won't work, because every income has to be taxed somewhere.

Of course, there are other tips on how to deduct business expenses more effectively, or save a few percentage points. But it's not a really big relief. It doesn't make much difference whether I pay 45% or 50% tax.

But we present you here 3 alternatives from Europe:

We are deliberately leaving Dubai and Bali out for now, as there are already countless videos explaining these “trendy” locations.

Now to the 3 best countries for starting a company as a digital nomad:

1. Romania

So for anyone who is not yet a freelancer or is dependent on an employment relationship, Romania does pose a certain risk. Salaries have increased there in recent years, but the inflation rate has increased even more. The average wage of just 950 euros net is barely enough to get by. If you don’t own property in Romania and have to pay additional rent, your net salary is hardly enough to make ends meet. There are exceptions, but unemployment benefits and other social safety nets are virtually nonexistent, offering little support in case of job loss.

Romania

On the other hand, as a self-employed person or entrepreneur, you benefit from one of the lowest tax burdens in the entire European Union. 1-3% tax on annual turnover, as well as 10% dividend tax on profit distribution.

But here is the big advantage of GO EU! We have specialized in Romania and have permanent employees there. That means we have our own team and a large network in Bucharest, as well as in the city of Ruse in Bulgaria (just a 1.5 hour drive from Bucharest airport). We also have our own family-run tax consultancy, with their sons employed in our accounting department.

Based on this expertise and high-ranking lawyer, we have created a setup that allows us to set up a company in Romania remotely, including a bank account - without any notary appointment on site. And it's completely legal and can be implemented by almost anyone, via GO EU!

2. Bulgaria

Bulgaria has a very simple tax system—a 10% flat tax for everyone! This means a 10% tax on profits. However, expenses incurred outside of Bulgaria are not recognized as deductible or as a way to reduce taxable profit, making it almost equivalent to a 10% turnover tax.

Bulgaria

But here is the big advantage of GO EU! We have specialized in Bulgaria and have permanent employees there. That means we have our own team and a large network in Bucharest, as well as in the city of Ruse in Bulgaria (just a 1.5 hour drive from Bucharest airport). We also have our own family-run tax consultancy, with their sons employed in our accounting department.

Based on this expertise, we have created a setup that enables us to request a corporate tax rate of 7.5% for newly founded companies in Bulgaria from the tax authorities instead of 10%. And this is completely legal and can be implemented by almost anyone via GO EU!

3. Company in the USA, but registered in low tax countries

When can an LLC actually be tax-free?

The solution appears revolutionary and far-reaching: Unlike other legal structures, the IRS has determined that a single-member LLC is not considered a separate tax entity. As a result, it is disregarded for tax purposes, and no tax return is required. This type of entity is also known as an Exempt LLC.

But if I live in a high tax country, how does that benefit me?

You’re absolutely right—it currently provides little tax benefit! In your country of residence, the local personal income tax rate applies to US earnings. In Western Europe, this rate is nearly 50%.

USA

Who is a disregarded entity or exempt LLC suitable for?

An LLC can be 100% tax-free if you live in a country where foreign income can be collected at low or even tax-free rates.

Recommendation:

Alternatively, you can reside in Bulgaria or Romania, declare all foreign income from the USA in your country of residence, and pay only 10% tax. Andrew Tate is registered in Romania and follows this exact approach—completely legal and fully compliant with all tax laws.

Alternatively, live in another EU country for 1-3 years, run a business with extremely low taxes, and return as a wealthy man or woman.

If the topic of company formation in Romania, Bulgaria and the USA is of interest to you, we look forward to hearing from you.

Unfortunately, tax advisors in most countries are trained by the state and are not primarily encouraged to help clients save taxes—they are not even specifically trained for that purpose.

Startup Failure

If you are now at the point where you really want to make a change to your company's high tax burden or even have an alternative to paying only a fraction of the taxes before you start your company, then listen carefully now.

Didn't we talk about an alternative at the beginning – with an alleged tax burden of only 1%? Absolutely right. Congratulations on making it to this part of the article.

For all entrepreneurs and self-employed people who are looking for a way to save taxes, we at GO EU offer a solution that is fully recognized by the local tax office and does not require any change of residence. This is our 1% tax model!

With the 1% tax model, you only pay 1% tax up to an annual turnover of 250.000 Euros and are even exempt from sales tax for a turnover of up to 60,000 euros per year.

1% Tax Method

And all of this within the EU, without dubious grey areas, shady offshore structures or having to relocate your place of residence. This model is fully recognized by your local tax office, and you can even have this recognition confirmed in advance!

I'm a digital nomad and I never thought of these three options. You actually think of Dubai, Thailand or Bali lol. PS: I sent you a request.

I want to escape the work-life trap, I have nothing against a nomadic life or a cool place to live outside of Germany. However, I need a business model before I start a company. I hope to be back soon;)

I am originally from Germany and moved from one high-tax country to another (Austria). I don't know if I'll be able to live in Romania, but a company there would be an option. You have my initial inquiry:)

What about 7.5% taxes instead of 10% in Bulgaria?

7.5% is easy, 5% taxes in Bulgaria are also possible

Funny how you always think of places like Bali or Dubai first. Didn’t expect Europe to have such great options.
